MANILA, Philippines - It’s the Starbucks promotion coffee lovers look forward to every year – from November to January, they get the chance to be awarded a sticker for every purchase of a Starbucks handcrafted beverage. Once the requisite number of stickers have been completed, these can be used to redeem the limited edition Starbucks Planner.

Turns out that patronizing Starbucks coffee does more than give customers their caffeine boost and a ticket to a coveted planner, it also means uplifting the spirits of thousands of teachers and students in public schools.

For every redeemed Starbucks Planner, Starbucks Philippines gives a donation to its beneficiaries.

This year’s recipient is Teach for the Philippines, a non-profit organization that advocates educational equity. By enlisting young leaders to teach in public schools for two years, and by building relationships in support of public schools, the organization helps make sure that all Filipino children, no matter who they were born to or where, have access to excellent and relevant education.

Teach for the Philippines was launched in August 2012 and is a partner of Teach for All, a global network of social enterprises working to expand educational opportunity. Through Teach for All, it partners with prestigious programs like Teach First and Teach for America.

As Starbucks has grown to more than 200 stores in the Philippines, so too has its commitment to use its scale for good.
