Parents take a stand against child malnutrition

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  Less than a month since the campaign launch, over 37,000 parents have already shared photos of their children as a way of pledging support for the United for Healthier Kids (U4HK), an initiative aimed at helping nourish the future of our children by addressing malnutrition among kids aged four to 12.

Initiated by Nestlé Philippines in partnership with the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) of the Department of Science and Technology, ABS-CBN and others, U4HK first invited parents to join the U4HK advocacy against malnutrition via photo submissions on www.Facebook.com/U4HKph.

“U4HK intends to help increase public awareness on the importance of adequate nutrition among children so they can grow healthy and strong,” shared Leslie Alcantara, Nestlé Philippines corporate wellness head.

Nestlé Philippines director of communications Sandra Puno said creating awareness especially among parents is integral to helping address the serious problem of child undernutrition in the country today.

“United for Healthier Kids puts the spotlight on children four to 12 years of age, and the important role parents play in providing their children with adequate nutrition. Together with our partners

FNRI and ABS-CBN, Nestlé Philippines is very much committed to help parents build a better future for Filipino children,” she said.
