Makati seniors treated to Chinese New Year banquet

MANILA, Philippines - The Makati City government, the Raffles Hotel and the Ayala Malls will treat a thousand senior city residents to a Chinese banquet tomorrow as part of the city’s celebration of the Chinese New Year.

Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay said the banquet would be held at 4 p.m. at the Makati Park and Garden. The banquet will be followed by a fireworks display at the park’s Bonifacio Monument area at 6 p.m.

The Makati City government, through its Museum and Cultural Affairs Office (MCAO), is also hosting a series of events to celebrate the Chinese New Year, including a Chinese food festival that will run until tomorrow at the New Glorietta Activity Center of the Ayala Malls.

Shoppers will have the chance to savor Chinese specialties of various Makati-based hotels including the Dusit Thani Hotel, Intercontinental Hotel, New World Hotel, Mandarin Oriental Manila, Makati Shangri-La Hotel, and The Peninsula Hotel Manila at affordable prices.
