MANILA, Philippines - To eliminate hidden hunger and malnutrition that afflicts one in every three elementary school children, the Department of Education partnered with the Infant and Pediatric Nutrition Association of the Philippines (IPNAP) through the Oh My Gulay! (OMG!) Foundation to successfully establish a nutrition awareness and vegetable-planting program at Bacolod City’s F. Gonzaga Elementary School. The OMG! program intends to create vegetable gardens in all 45,000 public elementary schools in the country. Students prepare tomato and eggplant seedlings for transplanting into vegetable plots in the schoolyard.
