Founded in Sweden in 2000, the World’s Children’s Prize is a unique educational program for children, with the primary aim to promote a more humane world. Participating children from schools all over the world are educated on their rights, the concept of democracy and global friendship, and are given the chance to select their child rights hero via a global vote. In the Philippines, about 100,000 children have participated in the program, with many local schools enlisting as Global Friends schools that support the World Children’s Prize.
