Boracay spa named Asia's best

MANILA, Philippines - Tirta Spa in Boracay was named “Day Spa of the Year” for 2010 in the Asia Spa Baccarat Crystal Awards in Hong Kong, scoring a three-peat in the prestigious award-giving search. The Asia Spa Awards was created in 2005 to set the benchmark for quality and innovation in the region’s booming spa industry.

Regarded as the best in the popular beach resort island, the three-year old spa opened in 2007 and won the Day Spa of the Year Award in 2008 and 2009.

According to Tirta Spa owner and director En Calvert, the award is a result of the spa’s use of high-quality products, innovative treatments with therapeutic benefits, its opulent Asian architecture and interiors, and its impeccable personalized service.

Tirta Spa promotes authentic, holistic spa product and educates clients that the treatments and therapies offered are focused on long-term wellness and rejuvenation.

She said that the spa uses organic Asian herbs and spices, luxury aesthetic products such as Biodroga Systems from Germany, Australian botanical skin care products, pure aromatherapy essential oils and sweet almond base oil.

Calvert, an internationally-certified therapist, said that as part of their expansion, Tirta Spa recently opened a sub-brand, Prashant Spa, which offers the same high-end therapies to the middle-end market.
