MANILA, Philippines – Teresita Baluyos, Anselmo Roque and Noel Provido were elevated to the Hall of Fame of the Professional Media Award by the Los Baños-based Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCARRD) at the recent 38th anniversary program of PCARRD, the agency founded in 1972 to coordinate, evaluate, and monitor government-funded agriculture, forestry, and natural resources research in the country.
DOST Secretary Mario Montejo and PCARRD executive director Patricio Faylon presented the awards.
Baluyos was cited for her contributions in promoting science and technology information and breakthroughs in Region 10.
Roque was cited “for his prolific contribution to the dissemination, and promotion of agricultural technologies of the Central Luzon Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium.”
Provido was recognized for his crucial role in the dissemination and promotion of agricultural technologies of the Southern Mindanao Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (SMARRDEC) in Region XI.
PCARRD said Roque’s and Provido’s quality of work in the print media “has set the standards for science journalism in the national agriculture and resources research and development network.”
