Globe beefs up soldiers' ICT capability

MANILA, Philippines –  Globe Telecom extended scholarship grants to top awardees of the Communications, Electronics and Information Systems Services of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CEISSAFP).

Philippine Army Capt. Odilon Barrientos received a four-year educational grant worth P60,000, while T/Sgt Victor Sosa and Philippine Navy S1YN Mary Ann Rosete each received four-year educational grants worth P40,000. The education grant will help support their completion of any four-year Information and Communications Technology (ICT) course to further develop their role as ICT professionals in the AFP.

“These awardees have shown a willingness and capacity to learn aside from their current service performance. Globe wants to encourage these soldiers to improve their ICT skills so that they can in turn enhance the capabilities of our men in uniform,” said Globe CSR head Jeffrey Tarayao. The CEISSAFP has been a strong partner of Globe for the last 16 years. Most of the company’s core transmission backbone sites are co-located within the CEISSAFP’s mountainous sites and camps. CEISSAFP also provides security and first line assistance during equipment trouble.
