BDO turns over community hall

-

MANILA, Philippines - The BDO Volunteer Multi-purpose Hall in Barangay Kaypian, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan built through the generous donations of the BDO family and friends for the D’Dreamland Ville Gawad Kalinga Kapitbahayan Neighborhood Federation, was inaugurated recently. The community development housing project intended for the informal settlers of Makati is a joint undertaking of the City Government of Makati, the BDO Unibank through the BDO Foundation with volunteers from the BDO Community Builders building the homes during week-ends.

BDO Unibank provided the houses in the BDO Foundation-GK Community at the D’Dreamland Ville while the funds for the multi-purpose hall initially came from two major fund raising activities of the BDO Fund Raisers – The Rhythm of Love Concert and the first Walk for Life fun run held last year.

Since then, the Foundation has been receiving donations from its own Board members, officers and staff in an effort to complete the structure. In addition, different units and departments of the bank, including the bank’s union and employees association, supported the construction of the hall. Partner contractor is AAV Builders Corporation.

Yamiel Nillos, president of the Dreamlandville-GK Neighborhood Foundation, received the donation in behalf of the villagers. The blessing was officiated by Fr. Arnel Tibayan of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
