Manila students shine in Museo art contest

MANILA, Philippines - To celebrate the 439th Araw ng Maynila last June, Museo Pambata held the seventh Araw ng Maynila On the Spot Art Contest, highlighting Manila’s beautiful sites and its people’s unique lifestyle. This year’s theme was “Family Place, Family Time”.

In the Level 1 competition (front row, from right), first prize went to seven-year old Paulo Dizon from Hope Christian High School, second prize to eight-year old Harlyn Vil-larias from Andres Bonifacio Elementary School, while Ian Cris Esperanza, seven, from T. R. Yangco Elementary School won third prize.

Competitions were also held in two other levels, for children aged nine to 12, and 13 to 15. All winners received art materials from Sterling Paper Products, gift certificates

and gift packs from Ritz Food Corporation, Splash Foundation and Mr. Snowpy plus frequency cards and summer workshop scholarships to Museo Pambata’s Art’s Cool.
