Healthy food innovation bags Anvil

MANILA, Philippines - The Tiwi Food Processors Association, Inc., Tiwi local government and Chevron Geothermal Philippines Holdings, Inc. won the Anvil Award of Merit for entrepreneurship and job generation for the “Pancit Tiwi (Seaweed Noodles): Women’s Social Enterprise Success Story” during the PRSP’s 45th Annual Anvil Awards. Pancit Tiwi provides an alternative livelihood and income to fisherfolk affected by the dwindling fish catch and natural calamities in Tiwi, Albay. The nutritious seaweed noodle is included in Tiwi’s One-Town, One-Product initiative and is used by the Salvar Familia nutrition program of the Spanish government in the Bicol region.
