Training center in Smokey Mountain

-

MANILA, Philippines - Residents from the Smokey Mountain reclamation area will benefit from a training center to be constructed at the Philippine Christian Foundation school in Tondo.

The training center, funded by the Australian Embassy’s Direct Aid Program (DAP), will provide community members with livelihood skills and training courses, such as stuffed toy and bag making, to augment their income. They will also have access to PCF’s health and social services as well as training in financial planning and family counseling.

Australian Embassy DAP Secretary Rick Adams (back row, center) recently visited the school and was welcomed by PCF students led by special projects coordinator Lynie Pispisano (standing, far left). The center is expected to open in May.
