AP Cargo marks 22nd anniversary with tree planting campaign

MANILA, Philippines — One of the country’s leading shipping and logistics provider, AP Cargo, celebrated its 22nd anniversary with a tree planting campaign that saw the participation of its loyal customers and followers through its Facebook page.

On June 22, AP Cargo launched a month-long campaign pledging to plant one tree for every 22 likes on its post. At the end of the campaign, the post garnered over 2,600 likes and countless of shares from AP Cargo’s loyal customers, followers and their friends.

AP Cargo was able to plant 375 seedlings, triple the number of tree seedlings pledged.

“It was important for us to do something meaningful to celebrate our 22nd year, especially as we’re entering a new phase as a company. We are expanding internationally and strengthening our nationwide services. It was great that we got our customers and followers involved in the cause as well,” Deputy Chief Executive Officer Randi Lorica said.

AP Cargo first started as a simple trading firm founded in 1972 and a pioneer in air-shipping in the country in 1981. In 1992, the company was the first to offer air-shipping nationwide.

Under the name, AP Marineways Philippines, the company was recognized in 1995 as one of the country’s leading wholesale brokerage firms in marine products, and was awarded by Aboitiz Air as the top shipper for three consecutive years.

In 1996, it expanded into the AP Group of Companies, which consisted of AP Transway Inc., AP Transmarine Inc., AP Land Movers Inc., AP HAS Marine and AP Transware; and by 2000, it transitioned into the AP Cargo Logistics Network.

Along the way, it garnered notable achievements and accolades such as becoming the Cebu Pacific’s authorized logistics agent and Avon’s exclusive handler of all its air shipments in Visayas and Mindanao in 2001, being consistently present in Business Profile’s Philippine Top 7000 Corporations, and becoming Philippine Airline’s designated authorized cargo agent in 2010, to name a few.

AP Cargo, as it is now known today, remains steadfast in its devotion to deliver more possibilities whether through land, air or RoRo, with only the highest ethical and professional standards in mind.
