FICCI wishes Indians all over the world a happy 73rd Republic Day
FICCI celebrates 70 years of enduring partnership with the Philippines with a shared vision of peace, prosperity and inclusive growth
MANILA, Philippines — Indians represent one of the largest foreign ethnic communities in the Philippines. The contributions of the Indian community have always been warmly received and greatly appreciated. The community’s strong ties are felt not only in the cultural aspect but more so this can be greatly seen and experienced in the business community and within and among Philippine society thru enhanced social interaction.
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (Phil.) Inc. (FICCI) has and continues to play an active role in enhancing this beautiful relationship with the Filipino people. The FICCI commits to work even harder to bring this relationship to greater heights of cooperation moving forward.
Through the years the FICCI has grown and has among its members different companies and professionals representing major business sectors such as IT, textile and garments, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, wholesale, retail, banking, real estate, port operations, legal and finance consultancy among many others.
It proudly continues to take on an active role in both private and public initiatives by creating and enhancing synergies with other members of the business community, Non-Government Organizations and the government.
The FICCI is committed to working with all sectors to rebuild the economy and focus on lives and livelihood. It is grateful to its many members who through their donations allowed the Chamber to be one of the very first organizations to respond and make much-needed PPEs available to our frontline health workers at the start of the pandemic. It also quickly responded to provide much-needed PCR testing machines to help ramp up testing in the country.
The Chamber also partnered with Go Negosyo and rolled out 37,000 doses of Astra Zenica and 4,000 doses of Moderna vaccines for the employees of its member companies to ensure their safety and that of their families.
Despite the ongoing pandemic, the FICCI still continued its advocacy program for children with Biliary Atresia by enabling them to have their life-saving operations done in India. It has also responded by sending much-needed relief goods to areas affected by recent calamities while working closely with national and local government officials.
As the Chamber celebrates 70 years of enduring partnership with the Filipino people, the Golden Peacock Awards Gala Night was held to confer awards of Excellence & Gratitude to deserving government officials who have consistently provided excellent public service and to its members who continually and wholeheartedly provide much-needed funds for the Chamber to continue its advocacies.
Throughout the 70 years, FICCI has been a partner in building a stronger, more prosperous Philippines and will continue to champion its vision of inclusive growth and poverty alleviation in the next 70 years, while at the same time working toward deepening the great bond of friendship between the peoples of India and the Philippines.
The Chamber and its members wish all Indians here and abroad a very Happy 73rd Republic Day.
