Keeping your cool
MANILA, Philippines - Summer may be over and the rains may be pouring but your car’s airconditioning system is just as important these days as it was in the days of sweltering heat. Imagine having to go through Metro Manila’s hellish traffic during a heavy downpour and having your airconditioning system conk out on you? If only to avoid such inconveniences, you really have to assure your airconditioning system is functioning well.
Rapidé knows this all too well and has taken several steps to ensure that you get only the best possible parts and service once you walk into any of their branches and ask for service on your airconditioner. In adherence to the Clean Air Act, for example, Rapidé has come up with a strategic alliance with DuPont, makers of SUVA 134A, which is a type of refrigerant accepted worldwide as opposed to the now-banned R12. In other words, Rapidé offers only the best and most environment friendly products for your car’s airconditioner.
Aside from this fact, every Rapidé branch also follows a strict system to avoid any kind of confusion and unnecessary delay.
First, upon requesting work to be done, a Rapidé technician will start your car’s engine to check the blower and vent operation.
If all controls are working properly, the airconditioner will be set to Maximum Air with the fan on High to determine the temperature of the air that exits through the vents.
The technician will then run a performance test on the high and low pressure portions of the system.
Next, the technician will perform a complete visual inspection of the system. This includes checking the condition of the belts and hoses, making sure service port caps are screwed into place properly even as he searches for oil stains or caked-on dirt along the exposed parts and hoses.
The technician will then leak test the entire system.
Finally, the technician will check the condenser and radiator to make sure that leaves, debris or dead insects aren’t reducing airflow over your car’s condenser coils.
You will then receive a written estimate from the store manager before any work is done.
Only then will the technician even begin to repair your car’s airconditioning system. This thorough once over is not the kind of service you’d expect from just about any car repair shop. But it’s just the kind of thorough process you can expect from Rapidé.
