Masbate shows the way in youth media engagement

MANILA, Philippines - The island province of Masbate may be one of the most economically deprived in the country, but it is leading the way in empowering its youth through media training.

Recently, Plan International engaged the services of Anak TV to train select students from several schools across the main island in basic media production.

After an intensive six-day program that spanned two weekends, Masbateño youth aged 12 to 16 were able to produce broadcast quality video presentations and exhibit photographs that encapsulize their sentiments about issues that affect them directly such as disaster management, environmental protection, child protection and youth’s right to education.
