Globe Telecom bets on high school techies

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom is giving young high school techies a rare opportunity to experience a meaningful activity during their summer break through the Junior Mobile Wizard program.

The six-week summer program is offered to Globe employees’ high school children, who will be assisting in selected Globe concept stores in Metro Manila, giving the teens a chance to become a part of a real company setting. This year, a total of 32 qualified for the program, with 25 coming from Metro Manila, 5 from Cebu and 2 from Davao.  The students are in second to fourth year high school level.

“The program exhibits the Globe Way vision of creating an engaging and satisfying work culture. Hopefully, the six-week program will not only impart important social skills, it will also help these young people develop business and entrepreneurial skills that could help build their future,” Renato Jiao, Globe chief human resource officer said.
