2nd Regional Forum on Migration held in Davao

MANILA, Philippines - The 2nd Regional Forum on Migration was held recently in Ateneo de Davao in Jacinto, Davao.

The regional forum is part of the 2013 Month of Overseas Filipinos mounted by the Inter-Agency Committee on the Month of Overseas Filipinos. 

Dubbed “Balik Pilipinas: Empowering Returning Overseas Filipinos and their Families,” the forum discussed the joint support that that these Filipinos can get from government and civil society as they reintegrate to Philippine society. 


The forum attended by 310 participants from the government and civil society organizations, academe, OFs and their families, and other stakeholders in the migration process including The Filipino Channel.

“Empowerment of Overseas Filipinos and their Families,” was also discussed.

The forum tapped resource persons to discuss the current scenario in terms of overseas migration and options for returning OFs in terms of the financial, psychological and cultural aspects.
