Mandarin Oriental’s Sheung Yuet night

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Welcome the Mid-Autumn moon in style by celebrating the Sheung Yuet Night on the eve of the Moon Festival at Mandarin Oriental, Manila on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Tickets to the event are available at the hotel’s mooncake booth in the MO Lounge.

The grand celebration starts with cocktails at 6 pm at the MO Lounge, a paai shan ritual and a lantern lighting ceremony. An opulent lauriat follows in Tin Hau where a team of culinary masters will prepare an eight-course dinner of traditional and contemporary Chinese cuisine.

Another exciting feature of the festivities will be pua tiong chiu, a popular game played in the Chinese Filipino community. Lucky diners get to win gift vouchers from the hotel.

Sixteen varieties of gourmet mooncakes, in mini and large sizes in elegant boxes made with a Shantung silk finish, are available until Sept. 19 at the MO Lounge and on the first level of Rockwell Powerplant Mall.

For details and reservations, call 750-8888 ext. 2422.
