Five-star culinary lessons for kids

Enroll kids in InterContinental Manila’s cooking classes held every first Saturday of the month for ages 8 to 12 years old (seniors) from 10 am to 12 noon and every last Sunday of the month for ages 4 to 7 years old (juniors) from 2 to 4 pm. Students will not only learn how to cook but will be taught the proper use of kitchen tools.

For the month of April, seniors will learn the basics of pasta making and juniors will be taught how to make fruit smoothies.

Kidzone Summer Lessons at Acacia Hotel Manila

Fun Works Inc collaborates with Acacia Hotel Manila for the first time to bring Mad Science courses. Children aged five to eight years old will have a grand time exploring the ecosystem found in a garden in Junior Explorers. A separate class is catered to children aged nine to eleven years old, the Junior Detectives. Kids will learn how to solve mysteries using observation and analytical skills in this fun learning workshop. Both classes will run from May 13 to 17. Deadline for enrollment is on May 8.

Budding stylistas will delight in the Little Fashionista course, designed for children aged six to twelve years old. Kids will get to explore their artistic prowess in creating clothing pieces and accessories. Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday from April 16 until May 23. Last day of enrollment is on April 12.

Discover everyday beauty through Basic Photography classes for children aged twelve years old and above on May 20 to 23. Deadline for enrollment is on May 15.

Galeria de las Islas painting workshop

Galeria de las Islas announces the start of its 2013 painting workshop for beginners and advanced students. Beginners with cover basic drawing techniques using pencils and pastels, while the advanced class will deal with techniques in acrylic and oil.

Beginners class is on April 17 to May 10, 10 a.m.-12 n.n. Advanced class is on April 18 to May 10, 1-3 p.m.

Art Exploration for kids at the Lopez Museum

This April, the Lopez Memorial Museum is offering a four-day “Art Exploration” workshop for children ages 4 to 6 years old.  On April 11, 16, 18 and 23 from 9:30am to 11:30am.

 Children’s Book illustrator Eric Roca will facilitate the workshop which will cover basic art concepts and teach figure drawing, among others. Art exposure gives young children a new way to look at the world. Help them discover their hidden talent now.

Writing workshop for children and young adults

CCA’s Kitchen Discovery Classes & Young Chefs Culinary Tricks

The Center for Culinary Arts (CCA, Manila) is giving you or your kids the opportunity to become kitchen masters through their summer season’s special courses – the Kitchen Discovery Classes (KDC) and the Young Chefs Culinary Tricks (YCCT).  

The KDC is designed for grown-ups who want to hone their budding culinary skills or even considering starting their own food business or working in the food industry. It will be handled by celebrity chefs Tristan Encarnacion and Rosebud Benitez.

The six-hour program will be held on Saturdays (April 6, 13, 27).

The YCCT gives the young ones the opportunity to hone their skills with the basic cooking and baking but also the chance to discover different cuisines around the world. From April to May, the YCCT will offer five different modules for all weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 1 to 5 p.m.

SM hits summer fever with ToonFest

TRUMPETS Playshop 2013

PETA Acting Workshops

London’s most prestigious drama school, The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) holds a workshop in Asia for the first time through a course on Musical Theater at The PETA Theater Center this May 21 to 26.

The Musical Theater course is a week-long intensive training offered to professional actor-singers who have undergone formal vocal training and are intending to pursue a career in Musical Theater.

Participants will work with RADA instructors and earn a RADA certificate upon completion of the workshop. 

Children, teens, young professionals, and theater enthusiasts of all ages are also invited to explore the world of theater through this year’s PETA Summer Program from April 9 to May 11.

Basic courses include Children’s Theater 1 (for ages 6-9), Children’s Theater 2 (ages 9-12), Teen Theater (ages 13-16), and Theater Arts (ages 17 and up), while the advanced courses for ages 17 and up are Basic Acting, and Creative Musical Theater. The program’s final showcase draws inspiration from the participants’ experiences, turning their stories into memorable theater productions.

Junior museum guides at Vargas Museum

 Now on its ninth year, the workshop welcomes participants ages 9 to 14 years old. The 8-day program will be held from May 7-10 and 14-17, from 1 to 5 p.m. The JMG workshop will be culminated with a graduation and the launch of their very own exhibition.

Students will be acquainted with various museum works like guiding museum visitors, documenting and handling artworks, and planning and putting up an exhibit.  They will also engage in creative activities like drawing, animation and printmaking.
