MANILA, Philippines - The Manila Symphony Orchestra presents “Re-formation: Celebrating the 10th Year of MSO’s Rebirth” on August 27, 8 pm, at the Philamlife Auditorium. This performance, the third in MSO’s 2011 concert season, celebrates the re-establishment of the orchestra in 2001.
The MSO will be performing Symphony no.5 “Reformation” by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy; By the Hillside by Antonino Buenaventura; and Aram Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto, Diomedes Saraza Jr. as violin soloist.
Diomedes is currently a scholar at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York. He started formal lessons under the Philippine Research for Developing Instrumental Soloists (PREDIS) program and was mentored by its founder, Prof. Basilio Manalo.
