Katie Ford and Visayan forum fight against human trafficking

-

MANILA, Philippines - Former Ford Models CEO and Free the Slaves global ambassador Katie Ford and Visayan Forum’s founding president Cecilia Oebanda recently paid a courtesy call on the US Ambassador to the Philippines Harry Thomas Jr. to discuss updates on efforts against human trafficking.

The group, including USAID economic development and governance officer Maria Rendon, political officer Matthew Fullerton, Joey Espino of Runway Productions, Michelle del Rosario, and Visayan Forum’s head of the Center for Social Partnerships Virgilio Montano, also tackled other matters relating to the issue such as strengthening ties with government and other partners, as well as further raising awareness and support for the cause.

Ford and Visayan Forum recently produced a video featuring Charo Ronquillo, Charlene Almarvez, and another Filipino model, Ram Sagad. Shot in New York, the video had the country’s supermodels talking about the facts of human trafficking, warning their countrymen against being victims, and asking everyone’s support for the cause.
