DOT's Lenten pilgrimage vacations

-

Manila, Philippines - Department of Tourism’s Pilgrim’s Journey to Heavenly Vacation is a “do-it-yourself itinerary” that enables tourists and pilgrims to visit the old churches in the north at their own pace and explore nearby communities.

On day 1, the journey goes to the historic Our Lady of Carmel Church in Malolos City, Bulacan, Basilica Minore de Immaculada Concepcion and to the Holy Rosary Church in Angeles City, Pampanga. Day 2 takes pilgrims to the Monasterio de Tarlac or the Shrine of the Relic of the True Cross in San Jose, Tarlac, then to the Our Lady of Manaoag Shrine in Pangasinan and the 14 Stations of the Cross in Bani or the churches of Dagupan City, Binmaley, Lingayen, Labrador, Sual or Alaminos.

Enter the heartland of the Cagayan Valley the next day to visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Piat. Guests can also visit the imposing Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Tuguegarao City or the Iguig Church and Calvary Hills.

For the final leg, proceed to the Baguio Cathedral and the Lourdes Grotto.
