To the beat of drums and bursts of color, Cebu rages on party mode starting from the “ber” months straight into January for the annual mardi gras, Sinulog. Starting the year with a bang is the only way Cebuanos do it, adding in a local vibe that’s truly contagious.

On a party upswing, Zee Lifestyle together with Grendha brought a Brazilian-inspired event to the shores of Duriantown last January. With Brazilian models to boot, cocktails followed the salon fashion show featuring the Cruise collections of hip retail brand Fish18, the classic menswear casual line of Bergamo and in-demand “It” designer Vania Romoff.

Set in Rochelle del Rosario’s chic abode, the guests from Cebu and Davao partied up a storm with wine from Manny O’s ’til the wee hours of the morning.

Another occasion of the tamer kind celebrated the opening of FISH18, the latest retail venture of the Loalde Group at The Northwing of SM City Cebu. Fish18’s tagline “Fashion.Graphics.Culture” sums up the brand’s philosophy. In many ways, it is an ode to urban culture and street fashion, sure to appeal not only to the younger set but also to those with a youthful state of mind. A new brand of cool has hit the Queen City!
