Jollibee Foundation and CGPHI partner to reduce malnutrition

-

MANILA, Philippines –  Chevron Geothermal Philippines Holdings, Inc. (CGPHI) has teamed up with the Jollibee Foundation, Inc. for the Busog, Lusog, Talino (BLT) In-School Feeding Program in six public elementary schools around the Mak-Ban Geothermal Facility in Laguna and Batangas.

172 undernourished grade 1 and 2 pupils will be provided with free lunch for 136 days or a total of eight months this school year.

BLT also encourages parents to become involved in their children’s welfare. Under the supervision of Jollibee Foundation, UPLB Foundation and CGPHI representatives, parents will prepare BLT lunches based on a low-cost and nutritious menu within an P11 budget. Concerned parents will also attend nutrition and food safety seminars. The seminars aim to enhance the project’s sustainability and increase awareness on the importance of proper nutrition particularly at home.
