Search for a WOW Tour Guide

MANILA, Philippines - With the aim of igniting a sense of nationalism among the youth, IslandsPhilippines.Net in partnership with the Department of Tourism and SM SuperMalls launches a nationwide search for a "WOW Tour Guide." Free tour guiding seminars will be held at nine SM SuperMalls across the country.

Those who participate in the WOW Tour Guide campaign and show true knowledge, pride and passion in representing their regions get the chance to win P300,000 in a grand awards ceremony.

Participants must have completed atleast two years of a four year collegiate course, have good moral character and must be proficient in English, with extensive knowledge of the destination that they will represent in the competition.

Those interested in wow-ing the judges must attend the pre-screening to be conducted by the Tourism Standards Department from April 19 to 20, 9 am to 5 pm, at the DOT Auditorium, T.M. Kalaw St., Ermita Manila.

The WOW Tour Guide campaign hopes to produce a new breed of tourism champions who can represent the country and help create economic activity in their regions through tourism.
