MANILA, Philippines - Time and again, Filipino choirs have proven that our country produces some of the finest choristers around the globe. With the world-renowned Philippine Madrigal Singers setting the pace in the field, hall-of-fame status for the UP Concert Chorus at the Aberdeen Music Festival in Scotland, and young Filipino choristers winning gold medals at the World Choir Games in Austria, South Korea, Germany, and China, there is no longer any doubt that our choral ensembles are truly world-class.
Manila Broadcasting Company is inviting the best choirs around the country to take part in the MBC National Choral Competitions set on Dec. 15-19.
The search features competitions for children’s choirs and an open category for schools, churches, residential communities, companies, government agencies, and special interest groups who may want to take part. The grand prize winners for each category will receive P100,000 plus a trophy and other gifts courtesy of Star City.
