Not Just Another Caribbean Cruise....
October 13, 2002 | 12:00am
To celebrate its 81st year, the Catholic Womens Club (CWC), dahlings, went on a Caribbean Cruise! The Pens Rigodon Ballroom looked like an ocean liner, and colorfully-clad "passengers" were CWC members led by president Lulu Tesoro-Castañeda and co-chairs Thelma Gana, Cecile Limjoco and Myrna Borromeo.
Scintillating music filled the air, and in keeping with the Caribbean theme, three dances choreographed by Jeremy Vallejo were performed. El Baile de los Mantones had Maripaz Godinez, Mardy Aguilar, Naty Golez and Tess Castro. Las Chicas de los Abanicos were Cez Manalo, Cecile Limjoco, Baby Gloria and Vicky Cadungog. Las Estrelitas del Oriente included Myrna Borromeo, Joey Sobrepeña, Charrie Lim, Cha-cha Gloria, Carla Santos and Erlie Gamboa. Star of the show La Reina del Carnabal was Carrie Bautista in magnificent black and orange.
Special feature of the annual tea is the launch of limited edition "Mother & Child" plates by artist Dante Castillo. A surprise number, dahlings, was the awarding of prizes to the best attire, as judged by Ben Farrales, Boysie Villavicencio and Bambi Harper. The honors went to Nori Ongsiako, Mellie Ablaza and Letty Syquia.
The Ascott Group, a leading Singapore-based serviced residence chain, dahlings, hosted a reception to mark the rebranding of its property in Makati. Somerset Salcedo Makati, formerly Stamford Court Salcedo, is a 150-unit stylish serviced residence targeted at senior to upper management executives.
Somersets management group in the Philippines, led by area general manager Philip Lim, Somerset Salcedo Makati general manager Christopher Bong and sales director Joanne Golong were on hand to welcome guests.
Remember, palanggas, "If we know Jesus Christ in this life, we will know Him even better in the life to come." Smile. See you.
