Foxies umapela sa PVL na paglaruin si Alohi
MANILA, Philippines — Umapela si Farm Fresh team owner Frank Lao sa Premier Volleyball League (PVL) na palaruin si Fil-Am setter Alohi Robins-Hardy sa 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference.
Ito ay matapos ihayag ng PVL na kailangang dumaan ni Robins-Hardy sa rookie draft sa susunod na taon bago payagang makalaro sa Foxies.
Iginiit ni Lao na nagkaroon sila ni PVL president Ricky Palou ng isang gentleman’s agreement noong Hunyo kung saan sinabi ng huli na puwedeng maglaro si Robins-Hardy kung makapagsusumite ito ng isang valid Philippine passport.
Ngunit biglang nagbago ang isip ni Palou.
“After the PVL draft, there was an agreement between me and Mr. Palou that Alohi can play provided that she presents a valid Philippine passport. That’s why I was shocked to learn that she can’t play unless she joins the PVL draft,” pagtataka ni Lao.
Ngayon pa lamang sana maglalaro ang Fil-Am setter sa PVL na naging isang professional league noong 2021.
“That’s why it’s really frustrating to know that they will not allow her to compete unless she joins the PVL Draft, which will happen next year,” dagdag ng Farm Fresh team owner.
Ayon kay Palou, papayagan lamang ng PVL na maglaro si Robins-Hardy kung mayorya ng 11 koponan ang hindi papalag.
Sinabi ni Lao na suportado sila ng ZUS Coffee, ang sister team ng Farm Fresh, kasama ang Chery Tiggo, PLDT, Petro Gazz at Galeries Tower.
Magsisimula ang PVL All-Filipino Conference bukas sa FilOil EcoOil Centre sa San Juan City.
