Zambia Consul Louie Ablaza celebrated his 80th birthday with a retro rock n’ roll party at Hacienda Amelia, the Ablaza family’s majestic estate in Alfonso, Cavite.

Known for their elaborately themed parties, the members of  Ablaza family have once again outdone themselves with this recent fête.

Led by Louie’s wife, Guatemala Consul Mellie Ablaza, the festivities started with a solemn thanksgiving Mass at the hacienda’s pristine white chapel, followed by an outdoor cocktail party — reminiscent of 1950s family picnics — complete with a mobile cuisine in a food truck prepared by chef Jessie Sincioco, who personally served mini-burgers, French fries and onion rings.

The setup may have been casual, but the crème de la crème of Manila’s high society, including distinguished diplomats and businessmen, celebrated with the Ablazas with champagne flutes from Moët & Chandon.

Guests also enjoyed a lavish lunch at the pavilion and afterwards partied in their best ensembles inspired by the fashion styles of Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, Marlon Brando and James Dean.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the beauty and blessings of life! Many happy returns, Louie!
