An olfactory affair

Renowned French fashion designer Thierry Mugler recently introduced his newest fragrance called “Aura Mugler.” He described his new fragrance as an “uncontrollable magic that the magnetism of fragrance materializes.”

In Manila, the fragrance was recently launched at the Manila House Private Members Club. Guests were introduced to the fragrance that “allows unique and powerful women to express their inner voice, whether it be sensitive or sensual.”

Aura Mugler is “oriental, floral and carnal.” The Tiger Liana (which is a fragrance component extracted from the root of an unspecified Chinese medicinal plant that is called Liana Fauve) is the backbone of the fragrance. The heart is composed of rhubarb leaf and orange blossom that produces vibrant floral freshness. Other notes include the essence of bourbon, vanilla and wolfwood (a scent molecule created by fragrance and flavor company Firmenich).

Present at the launch were special guests including Bianca King, Carla Humphries, Mari Jasmin, CJ Jaravata and Tim Yap, who all marveled at the beautiful heart-shaped, jewel-like bottle of Mugler’s new fragrance. The volume of the heart was chiseled in glass and set in metal and looked like a work of art.

The event, hosted by Issa Litton, was graced by Scent and Beaute Inc. CEO Ken Jeswani, business development and marketing head Francis Labora and brand development head Samantha Yen. They were joined by Clarins Fragrance Group brand manager for Asia Pacific Kai Chian Lim and international coordinator Camille Perencin.

Aura Mugler represents the dawn of a new femininity and Scent and Beaute Inc. is very excited to share this new fragrance with Filipinos.

Cool & techie collaboration

Fila recently partnered with mobile phone brand Cloudfone for a special promo. The sporting goods company hosted the promo’s awarding party at its head office in Makati City.

Customers who purchased one pair of any Fila shoe design from any boutique or concessionaire was entitled to enter a raffle and got a chance to win one of 10 Cloudfone smartphones up for grabs.

Another promo of the partnership was for every purchase of Fila Accolade Lite, customers had a one-time P2,000-off voucher when they buy a Cloudfone Next Infinity Quattro.

Present at the event were Fila Philippines owner and CEO Cris Albert and chairman Butch Albert, Cloudfone president Eric Yu with blogger and one of Fila’s newest ambassadors Angel Dei.  

Cris said, “I believe that the phone (Cloudfone) represents Fila a lot. And our shoe, the Accolade Lite, is all about technology. I think it’s cool to combine lifestyle and technology together.”

Eric Yu also presented the grand prize — the Cloudfone Next Infinity Quattro — and said, “The Cloudfone Next Infinity Quattro has an infinite screen, one of the biggest screen in the market. Screen-to-phone ratio is 91 percent.”

Winners, some of whom even traveled from the province, were present at the awarding party. Cris also provided a free makeover to the winners to glam them up for event. Winners were also given gift certificates as appreciation for coming to the awarding party.
