Well-loved luxury brand Louis Vuitton celebrated the launch of its Men’s 2018 Fall/Winter pre-collection at its Greenbelt boutique recently.

Guests enjoyed champagne and bar chow that were served at the brand’s fabulous party.

Men’s artistic director Kim Jones said, “This season, we were thinking about a truly global traveler; we looked into the city lights of Hong Kong and the big skies of the Himalayas and the Wild West to consider the way men dress today.”  The collection takes a bold and open-minded look at the traveler of today, glancing at the past while always pushing to the future to consider “Louis Vuitton Forever.”

The ground floor of the brand’s Greenbelt store was fully transformed for the month-long pop-up. There were interactive animations on a wall and an actual claw machine game (which I tried seven times and failed each time) and custom-mapped video booth. DJ Mikhail Schemm spun tunes throughout the evening.

Aside from Louis Vuitton in Greenbelt, the special capsule pieces can also be found in countries like Australia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore. The special pieces available at the pop-up were ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes and accessories printed with the Vivienne character design.

Kam’s now roasting in Manila

Duck leg noodle.

Many Filipinos love Kam’s Roast, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Hong Kong. For them, a visit to the former Crown Colony is not complete without tasting the restaurant’s sumptuous dishes. Photos of the restaurant and its food pop up in my friends’ social media many times.

Now, the long wait is over as the well-loved restaurant is finally in Manila. Thanks to FooDee Global Concepts, which brought another international favorite closer to local foodies.

Kam’s Roast joins other internationally acclaimed and Michelin-starred food concepts introduced by FooDee Global like Tim Ho Wan, Tsuta Japanese Soba Noodle, FOO’D by Davide Oldani, Todd English Food Hall, Pound by Todd English and Hook by Todd English and other favorites like Mesa Filipino Moderne, Llaollao, Sunnies Café, Flatterie and Bench Café.

Kam’s Roast comes from the family behind Yung Kee Restaurant (whose roast dishes are excellent, too) with a culinary heritage that spans 75 years. Third generation Hardy Kam founded Kam’s Roast Goose in Hong Kong together with TV and movie producer Robert Chua.

The go-to roast place is a dining destination best known for its mouthwatering dishes such as Kam’s Roast Duck, suckling pig and barbecued pork. The wonderful barbecued pork has three types:  regular, toro (belly) and Iberico. All are truly my favorites.

FooDee Global Concepts COO Eric Dee said, “Our goal is to give Filipinos a taste of the most delectable flavors around the world. We’re proud to add Kam’s Roast to our mix of dining concepts and we are looking forward to giving Filipinos more options that will delight their discerning palates without needing to hop on a plane.”

(Kam’s Roast is located at the 3rd floor of Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.)
