The Queen City of the South glitters

Inspired by the famous quote from William Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice, All That Glitters (ATG) is a constantly emerging, ever-evolving collection of jewelry created to shine on — but not outshine — the wearer.

The design for each unique ATG piece is born from creativity and inspiration, and honed with skill and a finely tuned aesthetic sense, as well as meticulous attention to design and quality.

Recently, the jewelry company brought its glitter to Cebu for a holiday pop-up show at the HoliCOW PH gallery-store in Crossroads Mall, Banilad.Guests trooped to the store to shop as well as indulge in the healthy canapés from Echostore and the different flavors of Manny O Wines.

Guests also had a fun time mixing and matching ATG’s detachable pieces to create a signature style. The Pink Line was particularly popular as 100 percent of the proceeds go to the ICanServe Foundation.

Say ‘Yazz’ to convenience

There was an exciting display of lights and party music at the launch of Metrobank’s Yazz Prepaid Visa Card, a powerful and reloadable prepaid card in the country, held at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia. Hosted by Aaron Atayde, the event was headlined by today’s hottest stars Alden Richards, James Reid, Liza Soberano and Kakai Bautista.

Four lucky members of the audience also got the opportunity to share the stage with the stars in the “Kaya Ba ng Powers Mo?” challenge. They sang a romantic duet with Alden, matched James’ hot grooves, showed off their dramatic chops in a scene with Liza and belted out Chandelier with Kakai. The winners went home with a prize from Yazz. Guests had the time of their lives as they partied the hours away.

“I love to travel and I can instantly book flights and tour packages online just by using my phone with the Yazz Card. It’s hassle-free, I don’t have to go to ticketing offices, I can arrange my travel plans myself,” Kakai shared.

“I usually go on trips or go out with my brothers and sister during my free time. What makes it more convenient for me is, almost everywhere I go, I can load up my Yazz Card. So, if ever I need extra cash for my purchases, I can just go to a convenience store or in any leading mall. I won’t run out of options,” said James.

Liza revealed how convenient having the card is especially to young girls like her. “I don’t like bringing cash around because I usually lose my money. This card is perfect for me because I can’t avail myself of a credit card just yet. With Yazz, I can pay for my own stuff without having to bother my parents.”

Meanwhile, Alden explained, “I find Metrobank Card’s Yazz Card convenient because I don’t have to bring money in my pocket wherever I go. Imagine, I get to enjoy cashless transactions and the same perks and convenience of a credit card without a need for credit evaluation or bank account!”

The Yazz Card is the all-around prepaid VISA card that allows cashless transactions with millions of accredited VISA merchants and ATMs worldwide. Use Yazz to pay for bills and purchases, go online to book travel tickets, or even plan entire vacations with more confidence as this card is EMV-enabled, which is the same technology used with credit cards that gives one more security and protection.

With just P300, you can avail yourself of the prepaid VISA card sold at loading partners nationwide and 24/7 convenience stores.

Best shoots to victory

Excitement and energy were high at the Ateneo College covered courts as hundreds of young basketeers gathered together for the first BEST Center’s FIBA 3-on-3 Tournament.

Sponsored by Milo Ready-to-Drink and supported by Freego and Rain or Shine, the tourney was structured by Fédération Internationale de Basket-ball (FIBA), which organizes the annual FIBA 3X3 World Tour.

Over 500 players forming 128 teams from Metro Manila, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Baguio and Lucena joined the competition. The teams were divided into two categories — 15 years old and under and 12 years old and under.

At the end of the thrilling and sweat-soaking tourney, amazing prizes awaited the winning teams: Giants from Saint Louis University Baguio and Sharks from Quezon City.

Gracing the event were Rain or Shine Elasto Painters players Jeff Chan and Allan Salangsang and former PBA player and current head coach of the Arellano Chiefs Jerry Codiñera. Also in attendance were BEST Center graduates Chris Tiu and siblings Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena.

BEST Center founder Nicanor Jorge said, “We’ve been planning the BEST Center-FIBA 3-on-3 Tournament for a long time and we are glad that we were able to successfully hold the tourney, thanks to the sponsors, supporters and parents who continue to trust the center. We are already looking forward to our next 3-on-3 event.”

Chris Tiu added, “Filipinos love basketball. We don’t just love watching basketball; we actually play it in the courts or on the streets. It’s the go-to sport for many. The BEST Center-FIBA 3-on-3 Tournament is an avenue for the youths to challenge their knowledge of basketball and heighten their passion for the game.”
