Sweethearts Luigi Chua and Jenny Guan exchanged wedding vows in a Mass officiated by Fr. Rocky Evangelista at St. James the Great Parish in Ayala Alabang.
The couple’s love story started while both were completing their on-the-job-training at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.
After the ceremony, family and friends joined the newlyweds for cocktails and dinner at the Grand Ballroom of the Acacia Hotel Manila. The wedding gown of the bride and those of her entourage were made by fashion designer Rajo Laurel, who made sure that everything went well — from the church to the reception. Jenny changed into an equally stunning gown by Parrish Espiritu Carlos at the reception.
The couple, both travel bugs, hied off to the Maldives for their honeymoon.
Warm wedding wishes!
Of excellent & sensible entrepreneurship
Regarded as one of the country’s hardworking female entrepreneurs, EMotors Inc. president and CEO Beth Lee was recognized as one of the BizNewsAsia Real Estate Who Is Who (BREW) awardees during the 14th anniversary celebration of the weekly business magazine held at the Garden Ballroom of EDSA Shangri-La, Manila.
BREW awards “are given to men and women for their outstanding work that improved the life and lifestyle of the Filipino, especially in real estate, its ancillary businesses, public service and advocacy work.” The magazine was founded by multi-awarded journalist Tony Lopez in 2001.
EMotors Inc., a 100-percent Filipino-owned social enterprise headed by the mother-and-daughter tandem of founding director Helen Lee and president and CEO Beth Lee, advocates green entrepreneurship with its zero-emission e-trikes, which, when mass produced and sold to self-employed drivers and operators, reportedly will solve three concerns: jobs, livelihood and environmental sustainability.
Congratulations, Beth for this remarkable achievement!

Oops! In my Dec. 17 column, the third paragraph in the story “Celebrating Yuletide cheer” should have mentioned Marco Polo Ortigas Manila’s director of marketing communications Judith Los Baños as the hotel executive welcoming the guests to the tree-lighting event.
