What a successful launch Honda Philippines had for its Click 125i! 

Two events were held to introduce the “scooter of the future” of  Honda Philippines, one of the leading distributors of motorcycles and scooters in the country.

The first event gave motoring and lifestyle media members their first dibs on the Honda Click 125i at a press conference held at the Honda Safety Driving Center in Parañaque City.

Elie Salamangkit Jr., the new model and accessory development manager of Honda Philippines, said the Click 125i takes off from the unique concept of Honda Zoomer-X, and is equipped with cutting-edge technological features developed simultaneously with other Honda-dominated scooter countries like Thailand and Indonesia. He said, “The Click 125i is our answer to customers who are looking for environment-friendly Super Sports Scooter with superior specification, unbeatable features and ‘futuristic’ design. Fortunately for the Philippine scooter market, we do not have to wait for the future, as the future arrives now.”

Honda Philippines Inc. president and general manager Yasushi Okamoto stressed the revolutionary smart technology built into the Click 125i. He said, “It brings future technology to the present with cut-away innovations such as Enhance Smart Power (eSP), Idling Stop System (ISS) and trendsetting Combined Brake System (CBS).”

Honda’s eSP is an engine technology that combines high-power and high-fuel efficiency with a quiet start and smooth eco-friendly engine. eSP technology is able to maximize the efficient combustion and minimize friction to reduce the risk of waste, and to optimize the energy out. This technology is integrated with the unique Honda ACG starter that is able to start the engine jolt-free and with a more refined sound, as well as the basis for the application of advanced feature Idling Stop System. The ISS allows for more fuel efficiency as the engine automatically stops after three seconds of being idle. The Honda ACG starter is exclusively developed for comfortable frequent operation of the ISS. Salamangkit said this eliminates the need for a conventional starter motor. The benefit of Honda Smart Technology is further optimized with the advent of technology Combined Brake System, which balances braking the rear wheels and front optimally.

After the presentation, guests got the chance to test drive the scooter around the driving course for a few minutes to experience first hand what the eSP, ISS and CBS were all about.

The public then had the chance to see the Click 125i a few days later at the grand unveiling held at the TriNoma Activity Center. Hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts and media guests packed the venue and participated in the day-long festivities. A raffle was also held and one lucky guest became the first owner of the Click 125i. Event host Aaron Atayde detailed each of the Click 125i features before revealing the new scooter,  which comes in three colors: Pearl Horizon White, Asteroid Black Metallic and Candy Rosy Red.

The night ended with a mini-rock concert with Sponge Cola, who performed several of their songs to the delight of the audience.
