The irresistible charm of Boracay Regency

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star

A world-renowned tourist spot, Boracay has been home to a number of unforgettable parties, special occasions and business events. The island paradise’s captivating scenery, powdery white-sand beaches and pristine waters make it the perfect destination for travel enthusiasts who want to experience a one-of-a-kind island getaway.

Making one’s stay in Boracay more enjoyable is the triple A-rated resort, Boracay Regency Beach Resort and Spa, a Henann resort, under the exceptional leadership of Henann Group of Resorts chairman Dr. Henry Chusuey, executive vice president Alfonso Chusuey and vice president for marketing Karl Chusuey. With its spacious rooms, top-notch amenities and an expansive beachfront, the premier luxury resort is truly the excellent choice for a fun and relaxing vacation.

Leading personalities from diplomatic, government, business and social circles had a pleasurable stay at Boracay Regency as they sampled the mouthwatering cuisine offered by the resort’s various dining establishments and enjoyed the exceptional service by the hardworking staff.

Kudos to Dr. Henry Chusuey and team for making Boracay Regency Beach Resort and Spa the No. 1 choice for a remarkable Boracay getaway!

Cruising the waters of Batangas

The Society for Cultural Enrichment Inc. (SCEI) traveled out of town to experience the Pansipit River Cruise and the Taal Lake Cruise in Batangas.

The tour was hosted by the members of Rotary Club of Lipa South headed by its president Chito Recto in cooperation with Rotary Club of Cubao headed by president Edwin Medalla. San Martin de Tours parish priest Monsignor Alfredo Madlangbayan joined the group at breakfast at the Taal Basilica’s dining room.

Pansipit River is the known habitat to maliputo fish and tawilis sardine. The river cruise started from the town of Agoncillo up to San Nicolas port where members took the Taal Lake Cruise on a floating restaurant. They docked at the cinder cone Taal Volcano crater created by the 1965 eruption where they savored the flavors of Batangueño cuisine.

It was truly an enjoyable as well as a cultural and historical trip for all SCEI members and their families!

The art of taking shots

The Camera Club of the Philippines (CCP), the oldest photography club in Asia and the Philippines at 86 years, held its anniversary party at the North Forbes Pavilion.

With an ‘80s theme, the celebration was graced by former President and honorary CCP member Fidel V. Ramos, who spoke about how photographers can be more relevant, using their love for the hobby to document and tell the world what it needs to know.

This year’s event was organized by the CCP board of directors headed by Nesty Ocampo as president and Fred Yuson as vice president. With the proliferation of smartphones, I believe nothing beats taking pictures the old-fashioned way — with a professional camera!

Congratulations!

Of delicious food & exquisite tea

Taking time off from the hustle and bustle of the city is the endearing Minerva Tanseco as she and her close friends went to Baguio City to relax and unwind.

During her vacation with the ladies, they had the chance to sample the mouthwatering dishes served at the well-known farm-restaurant Mother’s Garden owned by France-trained chef Therese Jison.

After her rejuvenating getaway, Minerva then organized an intimate get-together with a different set of amigas as they enjoyed a leisurely high tea at the Lobby Lounge of Makati Shangri-La, Manila. The group did some catching-up with each other while being serenaded with the soothing music played by the lounge’s string orchestra.

Until the next adventure, Minerva!
