Layers of pearly white capiz shells hung from the ceiling as tribal masks and intricately designed neckpieces concealed almost every inch of the walls. All four corners of the venue seemingly exuded a golden glow that I would describe as orderly chaos. These and more completed the elements of Ablaze, the store of designer Jun Jun Ablaza.
Ablaze began as a one-door store showcasing Jun Jun’s personal creations and little treasures, which he discovered and bought during his travels. The store was created to market Jun Jun’s creations that boldly blended art and accessories, dubbed as “artcessories.” The successful expansion of Ablaze was welcomed with a blessing, coinciding with the first anniversary of the store. Close friends of the Ablaza family and loyal enthusiasts of the store were all in attendance, sipping wine and enjoying canapés from Bizu. Jun Jun’s very encouraging parents, Zambia Consul Luis Ablaza and Guatemala Consul Mellie Ablaza, were present at the rebirth of Ablaze to show support to their talented son.
Jun Jun’s store embraces his talents and passion as an accessories and interior designer. His store is filled with his collections of leather pieces, Chevron bead earrings and necklaces, neckpieces and bangles made of precious stones and antique home accents. It also houses a jewelry design and repair center to service additional needs of its clients.
The diverse and distinct finds at Ablaze are truly special, creating a one-of-a-kind shopping experience.
