Stomp is back!

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Stomp’s record of 23 years on Broadway and 12 years at the West End has done absolutely nothing to exhaust its allure and energy.  The show that highlights a unique combination of percussion, movement and visual comedy will be seen and heard again with an even louder bang at the Main Theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines from June 17 to 22.

Co-creator and director Steve McNicholas said, “We are really excited about coming back to Manila.  If you’ve never seen Stomp, you should come and see what all the noise is about, and if you have, come again and see what’s new.”

The audience will have an exclusive opportunity to witness Stomp’s 2014 Manila comeback with its new crazy-loose onstage numbers, Filipino-style. The touring cast is joined by 17-year veteran Filipino Stomper Andres Fernandez.

British Ambassador to the Philippines Asif Ahmad said, “I congratulate Lunchbox Theatrical Productions and Concertus for bringing world-class British acts like Stomp to Manila. The show originated in Brighton, on England’s south coast. Many recall their spectacular performance in the London Olympics. The cast is a great example of the creative arts that the UK has become famed for and I am delighted that Filipinos will get a chance to see this vibrant act.”

Ahmad added: “Filipinos who love music and dance are in for a treat. I encourage you to see Stomp perform and we hope to see more great British acts here in the Philippines. After watching Stomp, you will, I am sure, want to come to the UK to experience our cultural vitality.”

Stomp is presented by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions and Concertus Manila in cooperation with Diamond Hotel, OOCL and Cultural Center of the Philippines. Media partners are JackTV, ETC, 2nd Avenue, The Philippine STAR, BusinessWorld, Philippine Daily Inquirer, PEP.ph, Monster Radio RX 93.1, 99.5 Play FM, 105.1 Crossover Manila, Ayala Malls Cinemas and ClickTheCity.
