Priceless memories
The very first present, one’s first purchase — these are just two of one’s vivid personal memories of jewelry.
Imagine all the stories that go along with every piece that is passed on from person to person, from generation to generation. Indeed, new stories were waiting to be told at the recent launch of fine jewelry, featuring timeless, artisanal pieces created by designers Kristine Dee and Paul Syjuco, at Chef Jessie at the Rockwell Club in Makati City.
Dubbed the New Romantics, Kristine and Paul’s new collection was made available for viewing at Aum Jewels at TriNoma and Firma at Greenbelt 3 after the launch.
Kristine, an industrial designer for her own export company, incorporated her own take on the Baroque, Rococo and Gothic styles of architecture that inspired her during a recent trip to Europe. Meanwhile, Paul applied Victorian and Edwardian classical elements to create more contemporary pieces. One may consider the designs antique or vintage, but they will surely fit any modern wardrobe.
Truly, they are such masterpieces to behold!
A worthwhile venture
A dinner concert to help alleviate poverty in the countryside was hosted by the Rotary Club of Makati Central (RCMC) at Manila Hotel’s Maynila Ballroom.
Titled Kantahan Pang-Gatas ng Kalabaw, the fundraising concert gathered RCMC Rotarians, their Anns, and their friends, with Rotary District 3830 governor Robert Kuan with his wife Lady Yvonne and governor-elect Lito Coloma and wife Ayet gracing the affair. The planned carabao milk processing project will serve as a livelihood program for local farmers in Licab, Nueva Ecija, the project’s pilot area.
Manila Hotel president and Rotary Club Makati Central past president Joey Lina launched the project as RCMC’s signature undertaking for this year.
Guest artists included Kris John Paul and his father, Muebles Italiano president and CEO Noel Gonzales, Fame Flores, Dresden Ramos, Jadezell Ventura, Joey Lina, former MMDA chair Bayani Fernando and actor Ricky Davao.
Congratulations and more power on this very worthwhile venture!
