MANILA, Philippines - Manila’s culinary experts and enthusiasts gathered together for the opening of KitchenWorks, the country’s newest culinary haven at the East Wing of Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong City.
Managing director Vohne Yao and general manager Edith Dychiao welcomed guests like Lifestyle Network’s Curiosity Got the Chef host Sharwin Tee, Ateneo professor Benito Lim and Allure’s Philip Cu-Unjieng. Even big names from the international food community flew in like Switzerland’s Kuhn Rikon export department head Werner Von Holzen, France’s de Buyer head of export Jean-Michel Petitjean and World Pastry Cup 2009 champion Jerome Langiller, who inaugurated KitchenWorks’ in-store kitchen by cooking some pastries.
Vohne’s mentors, his father Ivan Yao and uncle Emerson Yao of the Lucerne Group of Companies, were also in full force to support KitchenWorks. Issa Litton hosted the program.
A separate preview for the members of the media was also held where perky chef Nancy Reyes-Lumen served as emcee.
