Who will be the Next Big Food Entrepreneur?

MANILA, Philippines - Without a doubt, Filipinos have a penchant for food. And with love for food comes the opportunity to earn money.

LPG solutions provider Solane, together with Entrepreneur Philippines, Yummy magazine and Mercato Centrale, has fired up the Next Big Food Entrepreneur. Solane is sponsoring the search for the most promising food venture in the country.

Held at Mercato Centrale at the Bonifacio Global City, the competition kicked off with a food-tasting event. Judges for the competition include Mercato Centrale founders, STAR’s RJ Ledesma and his wife Vanessa, co-founder and food blogger Anton Diaz, Entrepreneur editor-in-chief Leah del Castillo, Yummy editor Liezel Liap and Solane product and brand communications manager Ernest Loquinario.

Out of 65 food entrepreneurs, 20 will move on to the next phases that  involve selling and business planning. Solane will provide cooking gas for the duration of the contest.

This tasty opportunity has assembled the most innovative cuisine like Kapampangan longganisa with salted egg, ice cream made from carabao’s milk and bagnet paella, tea mousse, Japanese pancakes and salami peppermint cupcakes.

Up for grabs are a tax-free cash prize of P100,000, a six-month rent-free stall in Mercato or Soderno and a feature in Entrepreneur Philippines and Yummy magazines.

Solane’s Next Big Food Entrepreneur is just one of the ways the LPG company is opening doors to budding food entrepreneurs to enrich their lives, as well as to inspire other business-minded individuals.
