MVP Group helps quake victims
MANILA, Philippines - There was an overflow of kindness when the MVP Group of Companies went to Bohol recently to extend help to the quake victims in the province.
Michael Toledo, SVP for corporate affairs at Philex Mining Corp. and head of media bureau at the MVP Group of Companies, joined Bohol Gov. Edgardo Chatto during the relief operations in Loon, one of Bohol towns badly hit by the 7.2-magnitude earthquake on Oct. 15.
The group, which is composed of companies being managed by businessman and sports patron Manuel V. Pangilinan, has deployed its resources — from relief goods to medical personnel and search-and-rescue team — to disaster-hit areas nationwide, as part of its corporate social responsibility.
Last December, Pangilinan led officials and representatives from these companies to launch Tulong Kapatid Center, the CSR arm for the whole group, which has since taken a holistic approach to giving aid in times of disaster.
