The magnificent Manila Hotel hosted a gathering of “Retro Verde,†a group of De La Salle-affiliated men and women involved in socio-civic activities, at the Tap Room. Fond memories were rekindled as the group listened to the trademark sounds of jazz legend Eddie Katindig.
Manila Hotel senior vice president for sales and marketing Ginny Banaag was her usual solicitous self, seeing to it that all the guests had a grand and memorable time at the historic hotel.
We live for lasting memories!
ZüM-ing away to cleaner air Here’s an inventive creation.
EMotors Inc. recently gave the public a first-hand experience of an electric three-wheel vehicle. The company, led by its founding director Helen Lee and president Elizabeth Lee, is the country’s first manufacturer and assembler of electric tricycles.
Recently, EMotors held a fun test drive of its ZüM (pronounced as “zoomâ€) e-tricycle at the Manila Polo Club.
Guests who attended the event, including Ambassador Jesus “Chuching†Tambunting, Jewelmer’s Baby Cruz, Dr. Daniel Vazquez and Equicom Group chairman Antonio Go, had the chance to ride and drive the innovative vehicle. ZüM is made by the only 100-percent Filipino-owned company, which is registered with the Board of Investments Motor Vehicle Development Program (BOI-MVDP) under Executive Order 156.
Congratulations to Helen and Elizabeth and the hardworking EMotors Inc. team for this ingenious creation!
A runway hit!
A huge crowd filled up the SMX Convention Center Hall 2 as retail powerhouse Penshoppe once again proved its fashion supremacy when it paraded its edgy new collection for 2013 at the Philippine Fashion Week.
Seen among the fashionable set were high-powered lawyer Karen Jimeno, Style Media Asia CEO and executive producer Tina Herrera, fashion models Sarah Meier, Charo Ronquillo and Tetta Ortiz-Matera.
This season’s sartorial presentation trained the spotlight on the brand’s clothes — a testament to Penshoppe’s continued commitment to celebrating fashion, and the brand’s own progressive style.
Congratulations to Penshoppe for a well-received fashion preview!
Happy birthday, George!
One can always expect the unexpected from noted life-transformation and meditation guru George Sison. For one, the invitation to his birthday party was quite unconventional, asking guests to come in red, blue, green or yellow to represent the four elements of the zodiac: fire, water, earth and air.
The evening had George’s closest pals — who have different callings — enjoying the animated conversations, flowing champagne and an abundance of not-your-ordinary canapés at the chic Society Lounge. Chef Patrice Freuslon, who is also the general manager of Society Lounge, whispered to us that the savory appetizers were actually the ideas of George, who was once a restaurateur.
Among George’s guests were Rustan Commercial Corp. president Nedy Tantoco, designer Criselda Lontok, socialite Diana Jean Lopez, Bulgari Philippines country manager Mario Katigbak and Bergamo founder and hotelier Mel Meer.
When it was time to light the birthday candles, George, true to form, let the candles burn till they melted as everyone sang the birthday song. Before the party was over, George handed his “gift†to each of his guests — a personal analysis of one’s seven annual cycles with an explanation for each cycle.
May more blessings come your way, George!
