It was a diamond of a celebration, indeed, for our friend and multi-faceted man, Zambia Consul Luis “Louie†Ablaza Jr.
For his 75th birthday party, the NBC Tent at Bonifacio Global City was transformed into a magnificent casino — the like frequented by filmdom’s British spy James Bond — in the hands of Louie’s very creative son, popular interior decorator Junjun Ablaza, with an ambiance that sparkled like a precious jewel.
Louie was as dashing as Agent 007 in the arms of his elegant wife, Guatemala Consul Mellie Ablaza. The Ablaza family was complete with Louie and Mellie’s three children, Junjun, Czarina with husband Dr. Jofe Syquia, and Marc Thomas Ablaza and grandchildren.
The guests, including a multitude of ambassadors, all came in their finery — the gentlemen in tuxedos and the ladies in glamorous long gowns. The venue was full of gaiety and everyone was visibly pleased with the exquisite dinner prepared by well-known chef Gaita Fores. The night was simply a gem of a party.
Many happy returns, Louie!
