The White Party

Guests relived the glamorous years of aviation in the ‘60s at the Martinis event dubbed “Cloud: The White Party Year V” at the Mandarin Oriental Manila. Martinis bar and a portion of the MO Lounge, the erstwhile Captain’s Bar, were transformed into a fascinating airline lounge with aviation-inspired decoration, first-class seats and “in-flight” entertainment.

The event was held in partnership with Etihad Airways, represented by country manager John Evans, Firma’s Markus Schmidt and Richard Danao, Tumi, Belvedere Vodka and Corona Beer. The White Party in its fifth year proved to be another huge success as guests danced to the exhilarating beat of international DJs Abdel Aziz of the Philippines, Marshall White of Ecuador and Roméo Cavalcante of Brazil.  British mixologist cum flair bartender Anthony White was an undeniable presence as he served a bespoke beverage selection.

Best dressed winners Sarah Rosser and Joanie Mitchell brought home white lamps from Firma. Other prizes raffled off included a sleek Tumi carry-on luggage and a round-trip ticket to Abu Dhabi courtesy of Etihad Airways.

Mandarin Oriental Manila’s F&B director Peter Pysk and Martinis Bar  manager JP Lizot reaped a lot of cheers for directing the awesome aviation-inspired party.
