The ASEAN Law Association (ALA)

MANILA, Philippines - The ASEAN Law Association (ALA), in celebration of its foundation day, met Indonesian Supreme Court Chief Justice Dr. H.M. Hatta Ali at an event held at RCBC Plaza in Makati City. The Indonesian Supreme Court Chief Justice, who also serves as ALA president, expressed his thoughts in a keynote speech about the practice of law in the country, citing it as one of the best in the ASEAN region. He also expressed his excitement for the preparation of the ALA general assembly tentatively set in January 2015 in Manila. Among the key people who graced the event were Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, ALA Philippines president Avelino Cruz, retired Chief Justice Artemio V. Panganiban, Philex Mining Corp. chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan and MVP Group of Companies media bureau and Philex Mining senior vice president for corporate affairs Michael Toledo.
