Celebrating the gift of life

MANILA, Philippines - The gift of life is the best gift one can ever have.

At the Makati Medical Center, a brighter space and special gifts will welcome newborn babies in its MakatiMed Newborn Services Unit.

The unit is now at its newly renovated location at the end of Hall B, fifth floor of Tower 1. The new site, now closer to the Delivery Room, boasts of a brighter, more relaxed environment for moms and babies. It has a spacious waiting area as well as individual breastfeeding cubicles, giving moms a chance to bond with their newborns in complete privacy.

Newborn Services provides immediate care for all newborns delivered in MakatiMed.  As a Department of Health-accredited “mother-baby friendly” hospital, MakatiMed promotes rooming-in and breastfeeding for babies.

Special gifts also await little ones at this new location. Babies born in MakatiMed will receive a complimentary “My child’s health record” book and an exclusive MakatiMed Baby Bag. The Baby Bag is a lightweight carry-on tote bag with pockets and a diaper changing mat. It comes in brown, with either pink or blue accent.

The “My child’s health record” book comes in a cool lime green color. Mommies and daddies can bring this book, perfect for doctors to jot down notes about the child’s health and development, whenever they bring their baby to the pediatrician.

Mommies and their newborns will continue to receive the “Mommy and baby kit,” filled with essential products to help parents keep their babies comfortable and happy.

This perk is exclusively available to MakatiMed patients (corporate, HMO or private) availing of private or packaged maternity procedures (private room accommodation).

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which address the needs of critically ill children, premature newborns, or infants requiring close observation, have also moved to their new location at the end of Hall A, fifth floor of Tower 1.
