FCCP turns 33

It was an evening of culture and glamour as Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines (FCCP) recently held its 33rd anniversary at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La.

The occasion was led by FCCP president Nene Leonor, Annual Ball committee chairperson Nonie Basilio and director-in-charge Nene Pe Lim, whose philanthropic and boundless generosity for the causes of FCCP was most tangible that evening. The celebration had its members and guests excited as they arrived at the much-awaited anniversary party of the FCCP.

The event also served as a fundraising activity, which was made extra special by a stunning line-up of performances, including that of Tony award-winning actress Lea Salonga who was accompanied by her brother, musical director Gerard Salonga and his orchestra.

Seen at the meaningful gathering were Vice President Jejomar Binay with his wife, Dr. Elenita Binay and Makati City Mayor Junjun Binay among many others.

Nothing but the best for Salome

Philippines’ Best Dressed awardee for 2010 and United Atlantic Industrial vice president Salome Uy recently celebrated her birthday at the Tivoli in Mandarin Oriental Manila, her destination of choice for a sophisticated and sumptuous dining experience.

Only a select group of friends, including your columnist, feasted on a special menu prepared for Salome by executive chef Rene Ottlik. Everyone was grateful for the assistance of Mandarin Oriental Manila director of communications Charisse Chuidian, who ensured impeccable service, delightful cuisine and a unique ambiance that exuded festivity and happiness for the celebrator. 

Salome, the vivacious lady of style and substance, and her friends, who love to travel the world together, gathered for a scrumptious treat where they had a great time reminiscing about their previous trips.
