There was back-to-back merrymaking at Palladium, one of the premier clubs in Manila, last month.
First was the official launch of the club’s CD compilation on Oct. 27. This event marked the CD release of the 13 club tracks mixed by Palladium’s resident DJane, Lady Trinity. French DJ Alchemic Storm played a set, which included the latest hits in Europe that kept the crowd in a dancing mood. These tracks are now available on iTunes.
The partying didn’t stop there. On Oct. 31, the club hosted a unique Halloween bash for the Metro Manila partyphiles.
All guests came in their most creative costumes that set the perfect mood for the Halloween night. Women dressed up as angels, fairies, goddesses, vampires and even as sexy chambermaids while the men suited up in their favorite monster costumes.
The night became even wilder as guest DJ Caal Smile, the official resident DJ of Amnesia Ibiza, started his set. His commitment to wow the audience was displayed through his tireless performance, playing the current beats from one of the hottest party capitals of the world — Ibiza. His highly versatile performance truly made Palladium’s bash the perfect holiday offering.

Oh, Skyfall!
It isn’t surprising that Skyfall is the biggest grossing film ever from the James Bond franchise. I think it is one of the best, if not the best I’ve ever watched.
Skyfall grossed millions worldwide even before it opened in the US, where its first weekend earnings exceeded what analysts expected.
I watched the Skyfall premiere in Manila in a really nice theater of Newport City at Resorts World Manila. It was my first time to watch a movie there. Alex and Clifford Lichaytoo of Bacchus International invited me to the premiere of the much-anticipated movie.
Bacchus International is the distributor of Bollinger champagne in the country, apparently the preferred choice of James Bond. Guests were treated to cocktails with a free-flowing Bollinger bar. I certainly had my fill.
Before the movie started, there was a short clip that showed scenes from various James Bond movies where the hero mentioned or showed his preference for Bollinger champagne. It was refreshing to watch the clip as the advertising then was more subtle; sometimes I did not even notice the branding and advertising of merchandise in these Bond movies!
The movie celebrating 50 years of James Bond was then shown and despite it being around two and a half hours long, it didn’t feel like it. If you haven’t seen the movie, you definitely are missing something! Go catch it with a bottle of Bollinger if you can!
