MANILA, Philippines - There was warmth in the air when MEDICard, the country’s pioneer HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) company, celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La.
Hosted by Iya Villania and Ryan Agoncillo, the event was like a big family reunion as representatives from various companies attended, some of whom have been loyal clients of the company since it first began in 1987. Welcoming the guests was MEDICard patriarch Dr. Nicanor Montoya or “Doc Mon,” the man whose vision to provide much-needed quality healthcare to the working class helped spark the beginning of the country’s HMO industry.
The affair was an opportunity for the company to honor 25 of its most loyal and key clients. It paid homage to The Manila Hotel, which is the company’s first ever corporate client.
The company begins its march into the future as it unveils a new corporate logo with the words “prescribed by doctors.” It reaffirms the company’s brand promise of giving the best healthcare available. A new ad and music jingle were also created to mark the company’s 25th year.
As MEDICard sets its sights on the future, the company’s more than 700 employees in MEDICard’s 11,000 clinics and hospitals nationwide remain committed to provide quality healthcare to nearly half a million members from around 2,000 companies.
